THE LEGEND OF THE 36 JUST MEN
When I was a child I was taught, that if the 36 men did not exist mankind couldn´t last a day, it would drown in its own wrongs. The 36 are not marked out by any rank or office. They cannot be recognized, they never yield their secret, perhaps they are not even aware of it themselves, and yet it is they who, in every successive generation, justify our existence and who everyday save the world anew.
I have met them on my travels in every part of the world. They have the most varied occupations. They are not fanatical supporters of anything. They were the people who when I was lost and despairing restored my faith. They created around themselves little islands of order and dignity in an ocean of chaos and absurdity. In whatever field they worked, their influence communicated itself to their surroundings. It is the ensemble of these human islands, dotted over the world, which maintains its coherent structure and prevents it from disintegrating.
They are neither hero´s or saints, and their civic virtues all go against the grain of the place they reside. They are motivated by a grave sense of responsibility, they exercise initiative and independent judgment, where blind obedience is the norm. They are loyal and devoted to their fellow beings, in a world where loyalty and devotion are expected only towards one´s superiors. They have personal honor and an unconscious dignity of comportment, where these words are objects of ridicule. Though there are thousands of them, they are a small minority. Yet they do not die out. Their existence is very nearly a miracle – a triumph of the indestructible human substance over a dehumanizing world.
Folklore that Arthur Koestler came across when travelling through Russia and put his own words into the mix. This is for all the 36 out there. Long may you shine onwards and upwards.
This is beautiful and I remember well reading this from you before. It's quite a good one. The 36.... And this is 12 x 3 .... I wonder if they are the deacons of astrology. There are 36 of them ... 3 who guard over each of the 12 signs. The Egyptians also had the 36 deacons. And I think there were the 36 spirits who solomon tamed by sealing them with his magic ring and forced them to build his temple.
The following is from someone who replied this post on another platform.Everybody feels there are certain people more active than others, that their energy makes a bigger difference. Its visible in a sports club,a social group, a family. We all sense these 36 are among us and people are starting to look at others with different eyes now.We can look at the idea very matter of factly or see it deeper, either way people have resonated with this idea. Here are the comments on the myth of the 36 Just Men.
There's around 6000 of them in total. Their age ranges from 70-800 years old, they are so masterful at conserving etheric energy, that they age much slower than average humans.
Robert Monroe called them 'the last timers' or graduates, they're on the brink of finishing human incarnation, at which point they will still remain in the human awareness but not physically manifest.
There are excerpts regarding this specific topic and much more important information in Robert.A.Monroe's 3 books:
Journeys out of the body.
Far journeys.
Ultimate journey.
In 'far journeys' he meets one of these people while out of body, the being is rather impressed that he managed to find him, they're always hidden amongst normal society: ambulance drivers, restaurant workers, teachers etc.
They barely sleep as we know sleep, because they dream consciously. Something ancient shamans teach their apprentices.
Monroe was blown away by his emotional control, he gave nothing away, nothing leaked from him, and he said he wouldn't find him again.
These beings have the widest orbit of any soul, and thus avoid getting caught up in the daily nonsense which keeps us trapped by our attachments in time-space. They are here to collect some tiny last fragments of themselves before they wink out for good and obtain escape velocity.
